MAGIC CIRCLE THEATRE Manager/Owners: Magic Circle Theatre is
a nonprofit Community Theatre started 20 years ago by Robert and
Rosemarie Gerould. Both Robert and Rosemarie continue to act
as Executive Producer
and Artistic Director respectively. They are also open during the productions (Fri., Sat., and Sun.) for ticket sales. Accolades / When: Both theatre's have received various awards over the years, and were recently awarded a sizable grant from The Irvine Foundation to further develope the theatre and theatre programs. Theatres Descriptions: * The
Roseville Theatre was originally built in the 1920's as a
vaudeville/movie house. It is a proscenium arch stage. * The
Tower Theatre was build as a movie house in the 1940's, and has been
turned into theatre-in-the-round. Primary Style/Theme of Theater's Presentations: Magic Circle Theatre presents a wide variety of styles of shows. I guess we are best known in the area for Broadway style musicals (without the $14 million budget of course), but we also produce lesser known works. Number of Seats: Roseville - 560, Tower - 270 Food or Drinks Served/Offered: We have a fully stocked bar and snacks available at intermissions. We also offer dinners or brunches in our Roseville lobby before most of our productions (reservations required). All food is prepared on site. Reservations: Reservations are encouraged, but not always required. And we don't take reservations at all for our Saturday afternoon Fairy Tales for children. Mainstage shows perform Fri. & Sat. at 8:00 pm, Sun. at 2:00 pm Tickets are $22 General Admission, $20 Seniors and Students, $12 children 11-years-old and under Loge seating (the only place in the Roseville Theatre where you can take food and/or drinks) is slightly more expensive - $25 General Admission, $22 Seniors and Students, $14 children 11-years-old and under. Fairy Tales for Children: These productions are performed by adult actors for children on Saturday afternoons at 2:00 pm. All tickets are $8.00 at the Roseville Theatre.
