Bobo Café - Traditional Vietnamese Cuisine by Suzy McMinn Visiting Bobo Café is a unique and wonderful experience. I had never eaten Vietnamese cuisine before and was pleasantly surprised. A group of ladies, who work out together at the local Auburn gyms, meet each Friday at a variety of local restaurants to taste the different foods and enjoy each other’s conversations. As a newcomer to Auburn, I am pleased at getting a first-hand glimpse of their favorite restaurants. One of the best restaurants we have tried is Bobo Café; it is a unanimous favorite with the gym ladies. I understand that Bobo Café is the number one restaurant choice for some of the ladies’ husbands as well. The decor is a delightfully modern oriental style with two unique oriental screens at the front door (be sure and take time to really look at these screens.) Bobo Café has beautifully set tables, good lighting and a quiet dignity… no loud intrusive music (which means we could hear each other talk, unlike some of the other restaurants we have tried), and prompt quiet service, each being wonderful plus features of the restaurant. The menu features 85 dishes, plus soups and appetizers. Now 85 items seem like a lot of reading but, luckily, the menu is divided into easy-to-understand sections: rice dishes, beef, chicken, vermicelli, pork, house specialties, vegetarian dishes and seafood. Each of the ladies selected something different and each had flavorful, favorable comments to make about their selections. I had sautéed chicken with broccoli served with steamed rice and it was delicious. The serving size was huge, more than enough for three or four meals, so I was glad Bobo Café offered containers to go. I think the most unique part of the meal was the many, many incredible tasting sauces to compliment each dish that Bobo Café offers. Location:
